We’re creating a state-of-the-art music center for the community.

The cornerstone of this project is a 65,000-square foot expansion designed to facilitate greater community connections. New public gathering areas and backstage space will enable our partnerships and artistic collaborations to flourish. It will also add core facilities that the existing building can’t accommodate, such as adequate dressing rooms, practice areas, and instrument storage. Expansion highlights include:

• A new, 3,660-square foot Education and Learning Center to support a variety of uses including rehearsal space for the IN UNISON Chorus, St. Louis Symphony Chorus, and Youth Orchestra, as well as educational programs serving 300,000+ students and 1,600+ teachers annually, public lectures, immersive performances, receptions, and community gatherings
• A new, three-story lobby with overlooking terraces and enhanced amenities on all levels, connected to Powell Hall's renovated concert hall and foyer
• Significantly more backstage space with new amenties for artists, including orchestra and guest artist dressing rooms, musician lounge, music library, eleven new practice spaces, instrument storage, and media and recording studios
• New passenger drop-off locations with safer and more accessible entryways
• Beautiful outdoor green spaces with areas for audiences to gather
